Olga Kurylenko is hoping to leave Brits shaken and stirred into raising thousands of pounds for the poppy appeal.
Top gem makers have joined forces with the Royal British Legion to launch a piece of jewellery that every woman should wear with pride.
Olga, who stars as the Bond girl Camille in the latest 007 movie Quantum of Solace, was licensed to thrill as she showed off a dazzling Kleshna poppy brooch in London’s Leicester Square.
Perhaps no actor or actress better represents the convergence of Hollywood and video games better than Olga Kurylenko. The 29-year-old Ukranian beauty has already appeared in two recent movies based on games, sharing the screen with Tim Olyphant in last year’s Hitman and, more recently, with Mark Wahlberg in Max Payne. And in a few days, she will be seen in her biggest role yet: starring opposite Daniel Craig in the latest Bond adventure, Quantum of Solace. And in a casting move that brings her impressive career full circle, Kurylenko will lend her voice and likeness for her character, Camille, in the Quantum videogame, which just went on sale. We had a chance to sit down with the busy actress and discuss her own gaming background, why Hollywood likes videogames, and how to fake a skydive.
The Ukranian-born model turned actress Olga Kurylenko steps into the latest in a long line of Bond babes but as the actress reveals, this was anything but your typical 007 affair. Movies.ie had a chance to sit down with the leading lady to talk about her six months of gruelling training for the film, working with Daniel Craig and her upcoming schedule including next month’s big release Max Payne and her follow on projects ‘Tyranny’ and ‘Kirot’.
They are not in love, there is no sex, and only a short kiss.
The Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko, needed just that to shatter a stereotype about Ukrainian models-turned-actresses in the film industry.
“Quantum of Solace,” the 22nd sequel in the Bond saga, hit London last week and is ready to grip Kyiv starting Nov. 6. It departs from the usual spy-romance, padded with daring chase, treason and location glamour.
Don’t hate Daniel Craig’s Quantum of Solace costar, Olga Kurylenko, because she’s beautiful. And don’t call the feisty Ukrainian model-turned-actress a “Bond Girl,” either. Olga tends to be pretty sensitive about those subjects, as I learned all too well when I sat down with her to discuss her turn as Camille, a mysterious stranger who becomes 007’s unlikely ally in the much-anticipated follow-up to 2006’s Casino Royale.
