Olga Kurylenko shakes it up in ‘Quantum of Solace’ as the first Bond girl who doesn’t fall for 007
Let’s be clear. Olga Kurylenko is anything but disappointed that she doesn’t bed Bond, James Bond, in the franchise’s latest installment (in which, atypically, he doesn’t actually introduce himself that way).
Bond not bedding his leading lady in “Quantum of Solace,” which opens Friday in Boston, is a first. And it’s now a fact of Kurylenko’s life that everyone is going to ask her whether she was upset to break ranks with the other Bond girls, as they’ll forever be known. For the record, she considers the question condescending, not to mention insulting. Earlier this morning, the former top model apparently blew up at a roomful of reporters who dared to ask it.

The 28-year-old Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko claimed that she spent six months getting in shape for her latest role as Craig’’s sexy sidekick in Quantum of Solace. Well, we’re glad, aren’t we?
“My body has never felt so sore. Still, I’ve learned a lot. I can strip and rebuild a gun in eight seconds. And before fight training I hadn’t really punched anyone before, so learning how to do it properly has been great,” Olga was quoted saying.
For those who don’t know, Olga can do more than just kick ass and look good. She received the certificate of excellence at the Brooklyn International Film Festival, 2006, for her performance in the French film, L’Annulaire. She’s also starred in a few other films, including Quartier de la Madeleine opposite Elijah Wood.

In “Quantum of Solace,” Olga Kurylenko plays revenge-seeking Camille, one of the few Bond Girls who doesn’t get her hands on 007’s, uh, personal firearm. And she couldn’t be more proud of that.
“He slept with all of them, so here’s a change,” says the 28-year-old sexy Ukrainian former model with the kind of attention-grabbing accent one expects from a sexy Ukrainian former model.
“But he was behaving well, so we gave him a kiss,” she smiles.

Did you know that Olga Kurylenko, the new Bond Girl introduced in the latest (the 22nd) 007 movie Quantum of Solace, has a mortal fear of heights (acrophobia)?
In the party scene when Greene (played by Mathieu Amalric, one of France’s top actors) is supposed to push her off a high balustrade, Olga said that she froze.
“I’m scared of heights,” Olga told Funfare during a one-on-one at a function room of Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, “and at first, I told myself, ‘There’s no way I can do it.’ Why, I can’t even walk on the balcony of my apartment! But the stunt team was helpful. They took me up there and they were so patient. Surprisingly, I did the scene very calmly. I couldn’t believe that I managed to do it!”
