The Ukranian girl discovered on Moscow’s metro who grew up to become Bond’s sexiest co star-yet
She is being billed as the toughest and most glamorous Bond girl to date.
But Olga Kurylenko’s route to stardom has been anything but easy. Behind the wide brown eyes in these exclusive pictures from her childhood is a tale of hard times.
Growing up in the poverty of the Soviet Union, she suffered a broken home and had to wear patched-up clothes.
But all that changed with a chance encounter on Moscow’s underground metro system.
The 28-year-old Ukrainian was unveiled last week as the actress who will play Camille in the as yet unnamed 22nd Bond film.

I have added a few caps of the Kenzo Amour commercial our Olga did some time ago in her modeling days. She’s only in the spot briefly but looks effortlessly stunning. You can view the video at Youtube.

Here is a really great interview Olga gave back in September of last year to the UK online mag The List. She talks about her film The Serpent (aka Le Serpent). She also speaks about why she transitioned to modeling to acting and her dream to work the great directors Pedro Almodovar and David Lynch. A very nice ready for any fans or if you’re wanting to learn more about Olga Kurylenko!
Olga Kurylenko talks to Miles Fielder about swapping the catwalk for celluloid
The most striking thing about the slick French thriller The Serpent is Olga Kurylenko, the beautiful 27-year-old Ukrainian model-turned-actress who plays the film’s femme fatale-cum-crime victim, Sofia. Kurylenko’s character only makes it as far as the end of the first act, but her role in this twisted tale of blackmail and revenge is pivotal, and while the centrepiece of it is an erotically charged drugged-fuelled bondage photoshoot sequence, there’s more to Sofia than meets the eye.
‘I liked the character,’ Kurylenko says. ‘She’s an illegal in France. She’s trapped and used by the film’s bad guy to destroy men’s lives. She is a victim. She’s not a mean person. She’s just an unlucky girl.’

British newcomer Gemma Arterton has been cast as the new Bond girl for the latest installment of the James Bond franchise, currently filming in London for Columbia Pictures and MGM, the film’s production companies said.
Arterton will play “Fields” in the Marc Forster-directed movie, which has the working title of Bond 22 and stars Daniel Craig as Agent 007. Talk of Arterton’s casting has been swirling around the blogosphere and in British tabloids since mid-December, but have remained unconfirmed by the producers. On Friday, Eon Prods. in London and Santa Monica-based Danjaq Prods., as well as Arterton’s agent, ICM in London, confirmed the casting. Details of her character were not available, but a Danjaq rep said “it’s a nice-sized role.”
The film will take up where 2006’s Casino Royale left off. Arterton’s credits include the recently released comedy St. Trinian’s, where she played schoolgirl Kelly, opposite Colin Firth and Rupert Everett. The movie, about the madcap adventures of a group of unruly girls at a boarding school, is an updated version of a movie franchise from the 1950s and ’60s.

The internet is currently abuzz with rumours that St Trinian’s actress Gemma Arterton will be the next Bond girl, as reported in several tabloids today. Though we’d encourage you not to believe anything everything you read in the red tops, Empire has learned from a source who’s in a position to be absolutely sure that this casting is 100% true.
What’s not absolutely certain yet is whether Arterton will be the main Bond girl, like Eva Green in Casino Royale, or one of the peripheral lovelies like Caterina Murino and that other one. But what we’re hearing suggests that she’ll be in a fairly major role.
The storyline for Bond 22 – or 007 as it’s rumoured to be called after Daniel Craig accidentally slipped up slightly on a talk show – is, of course, still under wraps, so there’s no knowing what her role might be. Arterton’s certainly got the looks for the part, though we can’t judge her acting skills yet as we’ve yet to see St Trinian’s, her first movie. But we do know she’s lovely.
