While Rachel Bilson graces the cover of this month’s InStyle magazine, Quantum Of Solace star Olga Kurylenko is also featured inside. She gave the magazine a little insight into her experiences of making the movie, as well as confessing her troubles finding a man. Here’s some excerpts:
Working on set with the crew
“English is not my first language, so the film crew would often…er…take the micky out of me, they’d tell me these wild stories that I’d believe, then later say it was a joke!â€
On her bond girl character Camille
“…She kicks ass! I did weapons training, body flight training for aerial scenes and stunt work for fightingâ€
On her co-star Daniel Craig
“He’s a really nice man, so supportive and encouraging. And very funnyâ€
On her ideal man>
“I know lots of lovely, intelligent men who’d make wonderful boyfriends… But they are all gay!â€
Thanks to the magnificent Lorna, we have more Olga scans. The Total Film ones feature a breathtaking new shoot. Speaking of new shoots, check out two new ones added for Marie Claire FR and Self Assignment. Remember – you may need to register(free)/Log in to view all of our images of Miss Kurylenko.
You beat out 400 other actresses to land this role. Were you a bag of nerves in your audition?
After I got the role, Marc [Forster] said, “So, tell me one thing. How come you were so calm at the audition?” I [said], “What do you mean?” He said, “Well, the other girls, they came in and they were freaking out. And you came in and I said, ‘Wow, she just doesn’t give a shit, she’s so cool.’” I said, “I was freaking out!” I was nervous but I also said to myself, if I was going to show that I’m nervous, I would not get the part. You have to take yourself in hand.
Was it ever a dream of yours to be a Bond girl growing up in the Ukraine?
No. I didn’t think it’s possible. I was too far away from it.
Check out the cool trailer for Quantum of Solace! Captures to be added asap tonight.
Also, Although it’s not entirely Olga related, it’s a little quiet in our lady’s land (the calm before the storm I bet haha!) so I’m posting it anyways. It’s also cool for Bond fans!
The Coca-Cola Company has revealed its new Quantum of Solace tie-in ad, which features an instrumental score from the film composed by Jack White, best known as part of the musical duo “The White Stripes.” You can watch the ad at ComingSoon.
Check out these new stills of Miss Olga as Camille, kickin ass in the new Bond film! (Credit) I really can’t wait to see this! Also, some absolutely gorgeous new scans were sent in by the great Lorna. These are from the October issue of Empire and feature a sexy new photoshoot and another new Quantum still as well!
CommanderBond.net has posted an interview the producers of Quantum of Solace , Barbara Broccoli And Michael G. Wilson. In it they speak a lot of Olga.
Be warned of potential plot spoilers.
Q: What about Olga Kurylenko?
BROCCOLI: She appeared completely out of the blue because we were originally looking for a Latin actress but the casting director felt she was so special and so unique ands said ‘you have to see this girl…’ She had been in Hitman and so we adapted the role specifically for her. So in the story she has a Russian mother and a Latin father so we tailored the role to suit her.
I found out some amazing news! Olga has a role in the new Max Payne film! Today the full length trailer was released and we even see a few shots of Miss Kurylenko! It’s only out in LQ right now, as soon as it’s out in HD I will re-cap and give us a better look at her but I have added small caps as well as two posters for the film. Also check out the official site intro, we see a better glimpse of Miss K.
Max Payne opens in theaters on October 17. Directed by John Moore, the video game adaptation stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Beau Bridges and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.
Wahlberg plays maverick cop Max Payne who is hell-bent on revenge against those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. His obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmarish journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal.
Now that the next Harry Potter installment won’t be opening at Thanksgiving, Sony and MGM have jumped on the chance to bow its Bond pic Quantum of Solace a week later than planned.
Solace will be released on Nov. 14 instead of Nov. 7.
Bond titles have traditionally opened the weekend before Thanksgiving, but Sony didn’t want to open too close to Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, so it originally settled on Nov. 7.
But the landscape changed last week when Warners announced it was pushing back Half-Blood Prince from Nov. 21 to July. (Studio made the move to even out its slate considering the gargantuan success of The Dark Knight.)
Summit Entertainment was the first to respond by moving Catherine Hardwicke’s vampire pic Twilight to Nov. 21. … Read the full story »
