Ukrainian-born actress Olga Kurylenko says the bond girl in ‘Quantum of Solace’ is a feisty girl with a mission of her own.
Olga pairs with Daniel Craig as the strong-headed girl who is out to take revenge in the latest Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ which opened in the UK on Friday and will hit the Indian screens on November 7.
“The new Bond girl is a very strong and very determined character. She is an independent and very feisty woman. She is almost like a female version of Bond,” Kurylenko told a news agency in an email interview.
The new Bond girl is not only bold and beautiful but also comes across as a strong and determined woman with a mission of her own, says Ukrainian- born actress Olga Kurylenko, who plays the female lead in ‘Quantum of Solace’ the latest film on the secret agent.
“The new Bond girl is a very strong and very determined character. She is an independent and very feisty woman. She is almost like a female version of Bond,” Kurykenko told PTI in an email interview.
In ‘Quantum of Solace,’ which is the sequel of 2006’s Casino Royale”, Kurylenko is playing the character of Camille. In a case of mistaken identity Bond is introduced to Camille, who is not only beautiful and feisty but also a woman seeking her own vendetta.
“Camille is basically after revenge. She was a really a great character to play,” Kurylenko describes her character in the film.
The Ukrainian-born model and actress launched her movie career in France in 2005 before jumping into action with roles in 2007’s “Hitman,” alongside Mark Wahlberg in this year’s “Max Payne” and of course, the latest Bond chapter, “Quantum of Solace.”

New Bond girl Olga Kurylenko has claimed that she refused to use a body double for nude scenes in her first Hollywood role.
The model-turned-actress objected to suggestions that she should use a double for video game adaptation Hitman, believing that producers would not be able to hire someone with as good a body as her.
Quantum of Solace is now playing in UK cinemas! L’annulaire aka The Ring Finger will also be available from November 3 on DVD in Britain so check it out!

The red-hot 28-year-old turned heads in this raunchy, ruffled scarlet number.
But if it left her young co-star Gemma Arterton green with envy, she was keeping it well hidden.
Kent babe Gemma, star of the St Trinians film, was stunning in a purple number but told us: “I don’t think I’m the one everyone will be lusting after.
“It’s definitely Olga. She is so beautiful. When I met her for the first time I thought she was so stunning. I was pretty embarrassed though – I wasn’t wearing any make-up that day.”

Ukrainian-born model and actress Olga Kurylenko looked resplendent and enticing in a Valentino Fall 2008 Couture mermaid gown with a long train at the world premiere of Quantum of Solace in London on Wednesday, October 29.
Her gown had ruched top, ruffled shoulder straps and elaborate fabric woven flower details on the waist and low back.
She accessorized with diamond ear studs, a red and silver band on her right hand ring finger and white heels.
Her dark hair was styled in an elegant updo with bangs covering the front of her forehead. Her chocolate nail color stood out in contrast to her red attire.
Olga, 28, stars as Bond girl Camille in the Marc Foster directed 22nd installment of the Bonds series. She’s proud to be the only Bond girl who doesn’t sleep with Bond.
“Bond and the Bond girls are becoming deeper, and they have more interesting stories,” she said at the event. “I prefer to watch that. Other women do, too. Women don’t want to be portrayed as (sex objects). Women have evolved,”
Amongst those who walked the red carpet on the occasion were Princes William and Harry.
Daniel Craig attended the event with longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell, his right arm in a sling following a shoulder surgery necessitated after he aggravated an old injury while performing a stunt.
Craig reprises his role as Ian Fleming’s super-spy James Bond, picking up where the last film, Casino Royale, left off.
