Quantum of Solace star Olga Kurylenko has revealed her impoverished upbringing has taught her not to be extravagant with money.

The former model grew up in Ukraine but after being spotted by a modelling scout while on holiday in Moscow, she graced the covers of Vogue and Elle magazine, before making the transition into films.

The red-hot 28-year-old turned heads in this raunchy, ruffled scarlet number.

But if it left her young co-star Gemma Arterton green with envy, she was keeping it well hidden.

Kent babe Gemma, star of the St Trinians film, was stunning in a purple number but told us: “I don’t think I’m the one everyone will be lusting after.

“It’s definitely Olga. She is so beautiful. When I met her for the first time I thought she was so stunning. I was pretty embarrassed though – I wasn’t wearing any make-up that day.”

Ukrainian-born model and actress Olga Kurylenko looked resplendent and enticing in a Valentino Fall 2008 Couture mermaid gown with a long train at the world premiere of Quantum of Solace in London on Wednesday, October 29.

Her gown had ruched top, ruffled shoulder straps and elaborate fabric woven flower details on the waist and low back.

She accessorized with diamond ear studs, a red and silver band on her right hand ring finger and white heels.

Her dark hair was styled in an elegant updo with bangs covering the front of her forehead. Her chocolate nail color stood out in contrast to her red attire.

Olga, 28, stars as Bond girl Camille in the Marc Foster directed 22nd installment of the Bonds series. She’s proud to be the only Bond girl who doesn’t sleep with Bond.

“Bond and the Bond girls are becoming deeper, and they have more interesting stories,” she said at the event. “I prefer to watch that. Other women do, too. Women don’t want to be portrayed as (sex objects). Women have evolved,”

Amongst those who walked the red carpet on the occasion were Princes William and Harry.

Daniel Craig attended the event with longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell, his right arm in a sling following a shoulder surgery necessitated after he aggravated an old injury while performing a stunt.

Craig reprises his role as Ian Fleming’s super-spy James Bond, picking up where the last film, Casino Royale, left off.

New bond girl Olga Kurylenko thinks of her first husband as more like a “brother” – because they were so comfortable with one another.

The Ukranian actress is twice divorced – but she insists she is still on good terms with photographer Cedric Van Mol, who she split from in 2003, after four years of marriage.

She says, “I just wanted to be free. I saw all these people who were my age and they did what they wanted to do. He was a good friend so we never fought but you know how it is – at some point it just gets so comfortable – the person becomes more of your brother.”
